About Me
I studied abroad in Florence, Italy in the Fall of 2016. During my couple of months abroad, I was bit by the travel bug. I was lucky enough to visit 11 countries throughout Western Europe. Since my study abroad semester, I’ve tried to travel as much as I can—both in the US and abroad.
In traveling, I came to depend heavily on blogs for ideas of what to see, where to eat, and what to wear. I found that the generic “top 10 must see” lists were full of tourist-traps and long lines. I like blogs because I can find recommendations by people who travel similarly to me. This is what prompted me to start Andiamo.
Andiamo translates to “let’s go” in Italian. On this site I will give my recommendations for the places that I think are worth seeing, the best restaurants to eat at, and what pack to be the most comfortable (and fashionable!) while traveling in each country, run routes that combine sightseeing and exercise, and the tips and tricks I learned along the way.
When I travel, I like to go, go, go. Given the choice, I would rather wander the streets of a new city than wait in line for 3 hours to see a touristy monument. I’m a budget tourist, but I try to find the balance between comfort and value. I am an art and fashion fanatic and I’m a sucker for beautiful architecture. When possible, I try go to restaurants and places that are off the beaten path. Food wise I am a vegetarian who has a huge sweet tooth.
If this sounds like you, then Andiamo!
